Every day will be an adventure
Here's an itinerary to give you an idea of what your tango holiday will look like. On your first day, we hand you an itinerary made for you to make it easy for you to have life-changing experiences--with our support you the whole way.
Day 1: ORIENTATION + Tango SHOE SHOPPING
First is orientation and welcome with Sasha and Colleen. We will get you oriented to the city and to your exciting week ahead.
Tango shoes are essential to your tango holiday. So after this orientation Colleen will take you on a guided tango shoe-shopping outing. Whether you have narrow or wide feet or sore arches, our insider knowledge will help you find shoes to support the dream of dancing tango well. If you'll be staying longer than a week, we can even help you custom-design shoes. (Note: artisanal tango shoes typically cost around $100 to $125 and are crazy comfortable. Even if you don't dance tango after this week you can actually wear these heels for hours in "regular life.") Hey, since it's hard to find beautiful comfortable shoes, the shoes could be worth the whole trip!
Then, in the evening, you will go out for your welcome dinner--and dancing! At an inspiring neighborhood spot where all generations mix.
Day 2: Intro to Tango Workshop with Sasha
On Day 2, it's time to go into tango--and the tangasm--with Sasha Cagen, the creator of the Tango Adventure, the author of the cult hit book Quirkyalone: A Manifesto for Uncompromising Romantics, and a coach for women. Sasha will give you the scoop on the Buenos Aires tango world and help you discover what tango is going to teach you for your life. You'll also start naming what this week is going to be all about for you and get to know the other participants more deeply.
In the evening, you'll be checking out live tango at an outside square, starting to observe the culture in action. Tango is hypnotic to watch and there's much to take in in this theater of love.
DAY 3: FIRST PRIVATE TANGO LESSON + Guided Milonga Outing to HEAR TANGASMIC MUSIC
Now it's time for you your first one-hour private lesson with one of the best tango teachers in Buenos Aires. Like Sasha, your private tango teachers have a mission to use tango to change the world. You will be learning tango as a dance and how to use the metaphor of tango for a more confident you and better, more fluid relationships.
In the evening, you will go out to a milonga with a local guide and hear local tangasmic music that will turn you on from the inside out.
DAY 4: SECOND PRIVATE LESSON + TAXI DANCER EVENING WITH DINNER
In the afternoon, you will have your second private lesson.
At night, you will have your first outing on the dance floor with one of our taxi dancers, a private dancer for hire at a a milonga. Your taxi dancer will make it easy and smooth for you to shine on the dance floor during your tango holiday. The taxi dancer evening is fun and empowering. Dinner is included at a vegetarian spot.
DAY 5: FREE DAY + PSICOTANGO workshop
By now it's time for a free day to explore Buenos Aires. Colleen is your personal concierge for the city and will help you to do whatever it is you want to do, whether that's museums, shopping, the Teatro Colon, or visiting tourist sites like La Boca or the famous cemetary in Recoleta, during the week. If you want to book a massage, we can make this easy for you or set you up for a yoga class.
Later, after you are refreshed, you will have a private psicotango workshop with a psychoanalyst in Buenos Aires who specializes in helping people find themselves through their body language and the dance of tango. Psicotango is a combination of tango dance and therapy, and it's fascinating!
DAY 6: THIRD PRIVATE LESSON + TANGO Goddess Workshop
Tango continually reveals yourself to you as a mirror, so you have three private lessons during your tango vacation. Today is your third private lesson. You keep going deeper and feel more and more like you are dancing each time.
In the evening you have a Tango Goddess workshop with Sasha at her home to discuss all you have been learning and how you will apply that in your life. Sasha will also be teaching you about the secret codes of the milonga and how to apply these lessons from tango for your empowerment. We adapt these lessons for gods who join us too.
DAY 7: FREE DAY + goodbye feast
On your last day, we leave it to you to decide what you want to do but we support you to do it. You might want to book an additional private lesson, if so, we facilitate that, or you can go to a daytime milonga, or one of the many beautiful parks, museums, shopping districts, or tourist sites in Buenos Aires.
In the evening we have our goodbye feast where you hare your stories and insights from the week. Last goodbyes. . . We’ll send you off with hugs, group photos and a lifetime of memories.
